Honestly, this was probably the best day in recent memory, and coming right after the Hell that was Monday night to boot. Occasionally, life is indeed fair.

I was, admittedly, academically useless. But that's fine. Really. These days happen, and help prevent killing sprees.

As maybe one or two of you knew before this morning, I went out for tea with opendestiny this afternoon - was glad to meet her and enjoyed myself greatly, even just chatting about myriad topics over tea and then heading back to her apartment to hang out and meet her roomies. Must remember for future outings - plan ahead, and thus get the "I dunno, where do you want to go?" bits out of the way early. :)

She seems as...enthused as I am to meet again...then again, so did the last girl Who Shall No Longer Be Mentioned. Somehow, though, I feel more optimistic this time around that I'll actually get to know the girl this time as opposed to being rendered a raving, neurotic wreck. As for more? Who can tell?

Another redhead. Why is it always the redheads? Not that I mind. :)

Also - New Doctor Who pilot! Many thanks to kwirq for reminding me that it was tonight, and many backhanded slaps for my sister's creepy stalker for forcing me to miss way too much of it while I passed just enough messages between the two of them to establish that she had no idea who he was.

I have only the vaguest memories of the original show, but if it's even as funny as this one was (which is a near certainty, surely?), or if the subsequent episodes are this good, , it may end up as the one TV show I actually watch often...and has entirely justified my slavish devotion to British culture. You bastards.

All right, I still haven't finished this bloody character background, but honestly, it can wait until tomorrow. I should probably go to bed now just to keep all this good karma. :)

Man, those redheads! Drive you crazy, they will. But worth it, they are. (Talk like Yoda you will, yes!) Best of luck with that.

Anyway I'm glad someone appreciated my nonstop raving on the subject of Doctor Who. ;-)

As someone who watched the original series every Saturday night on PBS for at least five years, I can say that the new season is much funnier than most of the original series. Exceptions being a lot of Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor)'s antics, and the two Douglas Adams-written scripts.

The second episode is even better than the first. Significantly so, even. It made us that were watching it squeel with glee.

Now I get to go to work and find out if my boss (an SF snob) liked it.
