Twenty-eight god-damned degrees.

For the Yanks and other misguided among you, that's about 83 degrees Fahrenheit. I swear, only the promise of $300 in my bank account and the return of my Baldur's Gate II CDs was enough to drag me out of the house today.

However, both these promises were happily fulfilled, which is good. The contract check went right to my overstressed credit card - my goal to have it paid off by the end of the summer is on schedule. Now all I need is a job. Or for the government to take pity on me and approve me for the disability subsidy. Preferably the former, though both would be nice, especially with school and the accompanying student loans coming up. :)

Also got to chat over fish and chips with vlosk. A welcome, welcome thing. There's a growing chance that we'll end up beeing roomies this fall in the condo he and his parents are hunting down as an investment property. This is an even more welcome thing. Especially if we can drag in a suitable third.

Got myself a much-needed new cap as well - the coolest little thing, black and silver with a metallic Batman badge on the front. Geekdom represent! :D Though admittedly not my usual brand of geekdom. I'm just a sucker for black and silver. :) Kicked around the mall for a couple of hours reading Kushiel's Dart before I hopped a bus home. Was spotted and accosted by various acquaintances of my mother and sister, to often amusing effect.

Incidentally, kwirq, I have the CD you wanted made. Now we get to talk about how to get it to you - feel like suggesting a good time and place?

More to say. As usual. Maybe tomorrow - odds are I'll at least be home. :D

G'night.

Ahh, you're in Texas too then.

No, wait, ours only got down to 87 last night. High of 98 yesterday, lowest it's been in a week. But it was 98% humidity, too.

As much as I hate to differ opinions with the guy who writes the blog, but after experienced Montreal heat and humidity, I didn't even notice it was any hotter/more humid than usual until I saw hordes of people lurching around slowly, going "uuuuuuugh gaawd it's so haaahht and ssssticky" like something out of a Romero flick.

So suck it up, Cheebs. :p

Go ahead, all of you. Mock my suffering. When the world is mine, your deaths shall be quick and painless. :P

I shall take comfort in the fact that the reason I'm bitching is because the metabolism that keeps me slim despite an utterly sedentary lifestyle also ups my body temperature enough to make hot days a living hell. Living in Edmonton makes this a concern less often that most other places in the world.

So there. :P

Quick and painless? Not long and drawn out? I must say I'm disappointed. :)

And... Awwwwww..... Muffin!

(Oh come on, you knew it was coming. Now try being outside planting/weeding/laying pathways/sodding.) :)

I like you all. The long and drawn-out deaths are reserved for the people I'm indifferent to. :P

And, yes, yes, everyone has it worse. But, in the immortal words of Cyndi Lauper, "It's my LJ and I'll bitch if I want to, bitch if I want to, bitch if I want to..."

Okay, she didn't say that. But I'm sure she would have!

Fantastic. Thanks!

I'm on campus pretty much every day every week. Does that help any?

NREF, the Natural Resources Engineering Facility. (New building, stupid checkmark-shaped roof, prison-like interiour.) From around 9-5, more or less.

Best place to meet is SUB, so I can get more tea. Just pick a time (and tell me), and I'll be there. You can also just show up at room 5-080 or call me (238-6972).

/not really that hard to find. honestly.
