That time of year again...

So I'm in the mood to do something slightly bigger than usual to celebrate my 21st. Maybe just because I've noticably emerged from my shell in the past year. Maybe just because this slim gap between having family to work around and having roommates to work around is entirely too precious to waste. Whatever the reason.

If you care enough about me to read this on a regular basis, you're invited. Since most of my friends-of are from outside the city and regrettably can't attend, this is not the invitation to homewrecking hordes that it sounds like. :) Offhand, I can think of...sixteen at most, almost certainly less, plus any guests they really want to bring, I suppose.

Come to think of it, I may actually be over-reaching. But what the hell.

I am leaning towards holding it on Saturday the 22nd (this date is flexible, see below) at my house at Silver Berry Road and 30th Avenue, in the Ill Woods. Since I will endeavour to provide food and drink as any good host should, I would appreciate knowing how many people are likely to attend. I do have a TV and DVD player downstairs, and the computer and stereo upstairs (plus another TV and a VCR).

I will note that this area is only conveniently served by transit until 9:30ish pm on Fridays or 6:30ish pm on Saturdays/Sundays. After that, you're stuck with progressively inconvenient service involving absurdly long walks or (not terribly pricey, but still) cab rides. There are two fold-out futons, a couple of couches upstairs, and my sister's abandoned bed scattered all over the house for those in dire need of crash space. There will be no entering my mother's bedroom upon pain of death. Anyone who dares enter my bedroom should note that I cannot be held responsible for anything that eats you while you're inside.

In any case, this date is flexible. Dealing with the lot of you, I've learned to be flexible. :) Thus, there's a handy-dandy poll below for you to state your preferences. I note that my mother is scheduled to be back on the weekend of the 28th (of course, recent experience has taught me to take this with a grain of salt), and so those evenings are suggested with the implied assumption of her benign aegis (not that there is anything inherently wrong with this). If you want to tell me about something I should try to ensure I have there, or something you would like to bring, or a time when you could arrive, just leave a comment.

well as the only person who has answered the poll.... uh....
Fridays = me having skating, which is over by 10:30pm, On the East end (still this side of the river, at least). Anyway, I don't know how late your parties go, so safe bet = Saturday.

Well, you sonofabitch, you got me to read your journal. Thanks, my eyes are bleeding now!

Hopefully by the 22nd, the scabs will have peeled off :P

P.S. Oh, and do you need a latex nun or pvc nurse by chance (*shines halo of barbs suggestively*) ...Gimme yer goddamned digits.

Well, if it isn't Julia...
Hello, stranger. Long time no see. :) Sorry about the bleeding eyes, I'm told those heal right up.

While it's rare that anyone ever needs pretty female friends in naughty outfits attending their parties, turning them down would be lunacy. Do as you wish. I'm sure my friends will thank you. :D

Digits are in your email.

I'm impressed that you managed to beat me to making the obvious reply to my own comment. :P

D, you need to change the name following Alora's DJ to MsNyne, Das Koerperliches Miststueck (for awesomeness)

What am I supposed to bring to this event, hmmmmm? I mean, aside from my apparently offensive to heterosexual females self. I swear, I'll just wear normal stuff... And no lapdances!

But I can't guarantee I won't flash :P

OK, I take back the objectification of hetero women part. Yeesh.

Changed. Now with umlauts, even!

*shrugs* You don't need to bring anything - this is a fairly laid back birthday party. So leave the ropes at home, I guess. :P

Whenver works; just let me know when the dancing girls arrive ;)

[oh, and would you like your gift to require a tedius dexterity test in a digital setting, a tedius mental task in an abstract setting, or brute force on the scale of heavy industrial machinery? Not that I have to listen to your opinion, but it _is_ your birthday ;)]

Well, since knowing you I have to choose one, how about one of the first two? Since last year you choose option 3, and I still haven't opened the thing.

"If you want to tell me about something I should try to ensure I have there"

Two words: "Soul Calibur" :)

Either saturday should work for me.

Bah
You scourilous dog you. Pick the two weekends I'm likely out of town. Bastard.

And I was quite hoping to bring the projector over, hook up a gaming system of some description to it, so everyone could see you humiliated at a variety of games. I would even invite the 12-year-old girl down the street, just for the amusement factor.

Yes, a healthy dose of humility, that's MY birthday gift.

Re: Bah
How sweet, humility. I can always use more humility. :D

Yaknow, I thought I knew who you were, but upon reflection I realise I haven't a clue. Care to enlighten me?

You know, there is a convenient link to check poll results. :D But yes, it's looking like the 22nd. I should confirm as much by the weekend.

As for your offer...well, I could always use help. We'll talk about it?

Quick question
Heya man, Chris here. Just wondering what time you had in mind for all of us to descend upon your soon-to-be-not-so-humble abode on Saturday.

Re: Quick question
*shrugs* Afternoon sometime. Tommy says he'll be there around 1, but then again he's nuts and we all know it. :) Basically, any time around or after 1pm is fine.
