Cry havoc!

All right, Professor Pavlovic.

I was willing to let slide your misidentifying Istanbul-not-Constantinople as the current capital of Turkey (it's actually Ankara) because that's really an irrelevant piece of information to the course as specified, since it's about Middle Ages history, and Ankara became the capital of Turkey in 1923 (and was also the capital of the Roman province now known as Turkey before the Fall of Rome, the split of the empire, and the rise of Byzantium, but that's also irrelevant).

But if you're going to try and tell me that the Hundred Years' War started in 1197, 140 years before it actually did, and then tell me I'm wrong when I try and correct you in class, I will give you enough evidence to make you admit it in front of the entire class.

And God have mercy on you if you put that on the midterm.

Go get 'em, love. Silly history professors who don't know history.

Gah, that must be terribly frustrating. Would be to me. History is one of my favorite subjects.

One of mine as well, which is probably why I even bothered to try and correct him. I don't know how much of the class actually cares when that war actually took place, but I do, and I want them to know too. :D

My social teacher last year did that too! Also, she never called it Istanbul, always Constantinople.

Well, it's an easy mistake to make if you're not paying attention, since Istanbul is by far the largest city in the country. But really, teachers should know better.

As for the name - well, I still like to call that city Byzantium, desopite my knowing the proper names, and my chosen name being over a millennium out of date, so I really have no cause for complaint on that score. :D

But she was the head of the social department! And people asked if she meant Istanbul and she just looked really confused until we showed her an atlas and she went "oh, right." Next day, same thing.
