Adventures in Domesticity, Redux

Having one's kitchen sink and one's actual kitchen separated by 20-30 feet and a flight of stairs produces some amusing situations. This is one of them.

Last night I wanted to make some tea after coming home from class. Checking the pair of jugs I keep my kitchen water in, I find them near empty. The fact that going upstairs to fill them is a necessary evil doesn't make it any less evil, so I'm rather disappointed.

But wait! There's a plastic bag full of ice in my freezer (really, don't ask. Just don't. :P) So I throw the misshapen chunk of ice into my electric teakettle along with the remaining water, vanish for a few minutes, and voila. Problem solved.

Like something out of bloody Little House on the Prairie, heh.

Sure, you're patting yourself on your back now, but just wait until you want to make margaritas and realise you're out of ice.

THEN WHAT WILL YOU DO

Wonder where the hell I learned to make a margarita, most like.

Nobody learns to make margaritas. They just get really drunk, throw a bunch of fruity shit in with some random alcohol and some slushy stuff, and proclaim it a new variation.

That is so true.

I'll teach you, because Future Chigbo came from the Future, taught me how to make margaritas, and if you don't learn how to make them before you go back in time to meet me the space-time continuum will fall flat on its face.

And plus because margaritas are rad.

You disappoint me. I thought the way the story was going was that the ice was going to blow up your kettle. Oh well. Be all smart like that and hve you tea. ;p

To be honest, I rather disappointed myself: I was expecting drama. Or at the very least, setting off the smoke alarm again. I've almost begun to miss it going off at the drop of a hat.

Of course, raspberry tea makes up for rather a lot. :P
