Changes Both Irrelevant and Important

I'd been using the old default for years. I figured it was time for somwthing new. The Shadows will still come out on occasion.

As if reality was listening to me personally (hah!), we got moved off our mindless make-work (well, it has some importance, but it certainly feels like mindless make-work) and back onto our actual jobs. Now I just have to stop making utterly inexplicable mistakes.

I'd like to wish celarus a spot of good luck, as he's down in Seattle interviewing for an internship with Microsoft today. If he gets the job, we'll have to do some sort of going-away festivities for him, don't you think? Especially since he'll be missing mine.

This could very well be the last opportunity we have to make him drink until he barfs.

We better get down to business. :V

Mmm, to my understanding it's summer work and he'll be back in the fall for you to torment. So if we don't pull it off this time you'll just have to send me pictures.

All that said, remember that he's a Scot. You may simply have set yourself an impossible task. :P

Hey, another Microsoft interviewee among us. Wonder if they put the interns through the same 8 hour long interview as they do for regular employees.

I can assure you they most definitely do. Actually, you apparently have to go through a similar process to even change positions within the company.

Overall, the interview went well. I think I made a better impression on some of the interviewers than others, since I had varying degrees of success with the technical problems they posed. In any case, I should find out by Tuesday at the latest whether I got the job and which division I'll be working in.

I interviewed with folks from the Networking group (who've apparently been doing a lot of work with peer-to-peer protocols lately) and with Windows Service Enablement (in other words, post implementation support). If I end up in the latter, I could end up writing your next hotfix. Whether you should be pleased at this prospect, I'll leave to your discretion. ;)
