All Falling Into Place

I am increasingly warming to the fact that Montreal will be as close after I move as Red Deer is now. That's a hell of a trade up, especially if all the glowing praise from Natasha and Nathan about their time there is any indication. (Speaking to Nathan and of cultural enrichment, when are you seeing that War and Peace movie at the Metro? I will have to arrange to come along if possible.) On the other side, I'm not likely to have nearly as much spare time (or spare money, $10k+ in tuition for the LOSE), but I'm sure I'll make at least the occasional visit. It's just too damn tempting.

It's already helped resolve a little dilemma I had, as a matter of fact, because the Paradise Lost/Nightwish tour I was agonising over stops in Montreal the previous Sunday, which is a much more plausible trip - half the distance, _and_ on a weekend. If I hadn't been at work when I discovered this, I'd probably be giddy. I'll probably still end up missing Therion, who are touring with Aesma Daeva around the same time (something like a week afterwards), but they went through Canada a year or two ago and are likely to be back far sooner than PL anyway. So I guess I'll be making the plans. I'll call it my birthday present. :)

My registration stuff goes out tomorrow, and hopefully it'll be sorted out by the time Advanced Ed calls Ottawa to confirm I'm actually going there. Assuming they do. I hope they do, the whole Confirmation of Enrolment thing is a royal pain, and I was glad when they stopped having to do it here. In general, I'm looking forward more and more to going back to school. I think that I've hit the "OMG, why won't this end?" summer tipping point that I know so well. Having a transcendentally boring and unchallenging job (though at least this transcendentally boring job is a net benefit to society, unlike all my previous ones) has probably sped up the arrival of this particular state of mind.

Oh, well, back to work. It has been brought to my attention that my previous method for dealing with office boredom (which is to say, lapsing into daydream and eventually nodding off at my desk) is unacceptable. Luckily, others present themselves that are less disruptive.

Hey man, I'm seeing the showings from Friday to Monday. You're of course more than welcome to come along, and I can lend you the DVDs if you don't get to all the showings but still want to see it :)

The Ottawa <-> Montreal train ride is very nice, and I expect you to take it many times so I can live vicariously through you. Hop to it mister.

Bah! I'm at Fragapalooza this weekend. Apparently there's a second set of showings in a week or two (unless I'm hallucinating), I guess I'll hit those instead.

Indeed, I think it runs all through next week. Sadly I'm out of town for those showings so I can't reschedule :(
