To Be Jolly

The holidays have passed with a thankful lack of drama. Mom and Ral loved their presents, and I think I'll get a lot of use out of mine (a new winter coat/gloves/tuque and the Dark Knight DVD). It was nice to spend some time with them, but it's even nicer to have been back home.  New Year's Eve was relatively quietly spent - I'd thought of going to the party at Zaphod's but decided against it - and the only real highlight was some people (not me, I've learned that lesson) drinking a little bit too much.

Having finally gotten TVersity (and thus the stream from PC to Xbox to TV) working 100%, I've been watching some of my downloaded shows in an attempt to clear the backlog - Rome and Gossip Girl (shut up :P) mostly. Also, working my way through Grand Theft Auto IV - the game is fun enough, and I guess I'm supposed to hate most of the characters.

The break has, as ever, been relaxing and welcome, but of course temporary: back to school on Monday - January term is a 5-times a week evening class in International Intellectual Property, which seems very interesting. Grades from Fall are supposed to be in in a couple of weeks - they do so love to leave us twisting in the wind.

Tbe strike is, of course, still on, and I don't expect it to end with the vote that the Labor Ministry's forced. But at least it'll take that stupid talking point off the menu, and maybe convince the city to negotiate. I'm amused that Cornellier suggested that the city council vote on the federal mediator's offer - but of course, that didn't get any traction.  Luckily, again, I live on Lees, so I can grab the University shuttle buses to class. I just hope they still run in the evenings, since class ends at 7.

There is, as always, more to write, but I need to run. Best to you in the new year!

You need to get Left For Dead. I don't play it, but Jon and a bunch of his UK friends love it. They're usually always looking for a 4th player.

Predictably, I already own Left 4 Dead - though for the PC, not the Xbox.

They all play on PC. Jon could add you to the Teh group he's part of on Steam - buzz him if you see him on MSN.
